I was born in 1946 in Elkhart, Indiana, the youngest of three children.  After graduating from high school I moved to Chicago and attended the American Academy of Art for two year’s.  It was geared towards preparing students for a career in graphic arts.  In 1967 I went to California to attend the California College of Arts and Crafts (now known as the California College of the Arts) in Oakland where I received a BFA.  It was a wonderful experience that I value to this day.  I found the world of fine arts their and believe CCA helped shape my voice in art today.

Art has always been my true vocation and passion. I’ve always had a place to make art even if it was just a drafting table in the corner of a room.  Today I am fortunate to have a studio in a storefront building close to my home.  I was nominated in 2012 & 2014 for the OEEA (Omaha Entertainment and Arts Award) Best 3D Artist.

I use materials of wood, found, new, recycled, and discarded parts from everyday life.  Stories are told through the process, and the object created.  It’s a way for me to understand my surroundings, and to see nature through my art.  Making objects is a way to marry chaos and structure - both can exists at once. Architecture, the geometry of an exposed decayed building, and the structure of the urban and rural landscape, all interest me as an artist.
